"Birdland Stars of '57" - SIGNED SOUVENIR BOOKLET

Original souvenir program from the 1957 jazz tour, signed by vocalists Sarah Vaughan and Jeri Southern and also featuring photographs of Billy Eckstine, Count Basie, a young Chet Baker and others. Vaughan and Southern have inscribed their photographs to Paul McMahon (Southern has signed on two separate photographs.) 24 pp. Very slight wear to the spine and some toning, but overall in fine condition. 9 x 12 inches (22.7 x 30.5 cm).

From the library of Paul McMahon, a critic, photographer and artist who worked for more than 13 years touring with Marlene Dietrich as the icon’s stage manager, announcer, dresser, secretary and escort, and later spent 25 years as an arts and entertainment reviewer and photographer with Gay Community News, Esplanade, Tommy’s Connection, The Mirror, Bay Windows and other publications.  (14797)
