[Rolling Stones] Jagger, Mick. (b. 1943) & Jarre, Jean Michel. (b. 1948)

Autograph Signatures to Champs Disques in Paris

Original autograph from the English musician, singer-songwriter, actor and producer, best known as the lead vocalist of rock band The Rolling Stones, together with an autograph from the maverick French musician Jean Michel Jarre, both inscribed to the French record label Champs Disques. Jagger has penned: "Pour Champs Disques / Love / Mick Jagger" on the recto of a small sheet, dated November 7, 1977. On the verso, Jarre has inscribed to Champs Disques with thanks for distributing his 1976 album Oxygène. 6.75 x 8.25 inches.

After seeing Jarre's 1979 Bastille Day concert in Paris, where he illuminated the buildings and fountains of the Place de la Concorde with an elaborate light show, Jagger is said to have invited Jarre to work with the Rolling Stones. Although this never came to pass, the two apparently spent time together in the 1970's; Jarre recalls doing drugs in New York with Jagger and David Bowie. (14761)
