Original boards with integral b/w illustrations, titles blindstamped in gilt and silver gilt to spine and front board, black endpapers. A fine copy with a few stray marks to edges. Illustrated throughout with monochrome plates, a number as gatefolds. Presentation copy, inscribed on the title by the important American photographer celebrated for his work in fashion and for his portraits often in the style of classical Greek sculpture: "To Paul / Many thanks / xxx Herb '96." From the library of Paul McMahon, a critic, photographer and artist who worked for more than 13 years touring with Marlene Dietrich as the icon’s stage manager, announcer, dresser, secretary and escort, and later spent 25 years as an arts and entertainment reviewer and photographer with Gay Community News, Esplanade, Tommy’s Connection, The Mirror, Bay Windows and other publications.
