"Märchen ohne Worte" - Autograph Musical Quotation

Autograph musical quotation in the hand of the important German composer of Danish birth. He has penned three measures from the introduction to his piano suite "Märchen ohne Worte," op. 165, signed, and dated Vienna, March 13, [18]97. An elegant AMQS, boldly signed, in fine condition. On a card, 7 x 4.25 inches (17.6 x 11 cm).

Reinecke was regarded as one of the most influential and versatile musicians of the period. A pianist who toured with violinist, H.W. Ernst, he was an intimate of David, Hiller, Schumann and Mendelssohn. Also one of the most important composition teachers of the period, his students included Bruch, Grieg, Reznicek, Sinding, Sullivan, Svedsen and Weingartner! (14727)
