With ink portrait by Gilot of a female figure on half-title page, cleverly incorporating the book's title into a head-band. With a presentation inscription to art critic and curator Jacob Baal-Teshuva, dated 9-11-98.

Françoise Gilot, French painter and bestselling author living in New York City and Paris, is widely known as the lover and artistic muse of Pablo Picasso from 1944 to 1953, and the mother of his children, Claude Picasso and Paloma Picasso. In May of 2012, the Gagosian Gallery in New York presented an exhibition that chronicles the years in which she and Picasso were together. (14648)
