Signed Photograph with AMQS to Famous Cellist
An original 4.25 X 6.25 inch photograph affixed to its 7 X 11 inch mount on which the Romanian violinist and composer has penned an autograph musical quote, identified as "Symphonie Concertante Vcelle et Orch," [Symphonie Concertante in B minor for Cello and Orchestra, Opus 8 (1901)]. Inscribed, signed and dated March 1923, by Enesco who has smudged his last name slightly. The dedication is to William Van den Burg (1901-1992), who was, at different times, the principal cellist of the Philadelphia Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony Orchetestra, and the LA Philharmonic.The photographer's mount with pinholes at top, bumped corners with some fraying to edges. Nonetheless, scarce and very presentable. Beautifully framed in charcoal and dark green mattings with a gilt beveled wood molding. 14.5 X 18.5 inches overall. (1443)
