Lithograph print, ca. 1830s, of a pianist playing and singing for a small audience, as drawn by the important French illustrator Paul Gavarni (nom de plume of Sulpice Guillaume Chevalier.) The caption below the image gives a caricatured rendition of text of the song the man is singing: "Peti... tefleue.... deschamps / Toujoue... toujoue... cachée..." Foxing; light mounting remnants on verso; overall in very good condition. 9.75 x 14 inches (25.1 x 35.7 cm).

This print was later published in 1853 in Paul Gavarni's collection Masques et Visages. (14412)
