Original cabinet photograph of the important violinist, composer and conductor, boldly signed at the left and dated 1898. Photographed by Sarony of New York. Ysaye is shown standing, holding his instrument. Some large chips and wear to the edges, but the photograph itself intact. 4.25 x 6.5 inches; 11.5 x 16 cm.Carl Flesch called him "the most outstanding and individual violinist I have ever heard in my life," and he was the dedicatee of many major works from Debussy, Saint-Saens, Franck, Chausson and others.
