Bold autograph signature and superb original photograph of the great Italian Basso in his most celebrated role. 8 X 10 inches and in very fine condition.

When Pinza arrived to meet Bruno Walter in his home in New York, Walter's cook had opened the door for him and then rushed back to whisper to Elsa Walter that "there's such a beautiful man outside." Upon hearing of this, Bruno Walter was apparently confirmed in his sense that Pinza would be able "to produce that immediate personal effect" that he thought crucial for the role of Don Giovanni.
