Striking signed portrait photograph from the American soprano, a popular star at the Metropolitan who also sang the world premiere in 1948 of Samuel Barber's Knoxville, Summer of 1915, a work which she commissioned. She is shown in costume as the Countess in The Marriage of Figaro, posing in a garden. Photographed for the William Morris Agency and boldly signed and inscribed across the image.
