Autograph Note

An affectionate autograph note from the French composer best known for his operas Mignon and Hamlet and as Director of the Conservatoire de Paris from 1871 until his death. Dated April 19, 1868. To an unidentified woman, he writes: "How grateful I am, Madame, for the charming souvenir!" He will be "always loyal and devoted" to this lady and looks forward to seeing her on the following day. One folding crease and a slight smudge; overall in fine condition. 4 x 5.25 inches (10.4 x 13.5 cm). (13805)
