A charming original photograph of the great conductor, standing on an Italian piazza in dark sunglasses, next to a classic car. Printed on a deckle-edged card and stamped on the verso: May 26, 1956. Monteux was in Rome from May 26 to June 9 to record La Traviata with the orchestra and chorus of the Rome Opera House. In very fine condition. 5.5 x 4 inches (14.4 x 10 cm).
