Autograph Letter to George Kuyper, Arranging Rehearsals with the Los Angeles Philharmonic

Autograph letter signed from the great conductor, dated May 28, 1960, addressed to Los Angeles Philharmonic orchestra manager George Kuyper and arranging the details of upcoming rehearsals with the orchestra, which would perform later that year with the young Leon Fleisher at the piano. Addressing Kuyper as "My dear old friend," Monteux writes: "I would like [Jean] Madeira to come at the 1st rehearsal at about 11 o'clock... I like to have Fleisher come at the last rehearsal also about 11 o'clock. As soon as I make my reservations on the plane from Chicago to Los Angeles I will let you know." 1 p. on Monteux's Maine letterhead, stamped "Received" on June 2, 1960 on the verso.
