Rare vintage 1963 Oxfam promo photograph card of the Beatles, signed in blue ink by John Lennon, Paul McCartney & Ringo Starr. The card has been signed on behalf of George Harrison by Neil Aspinall, and this signature alone has also been traced over. Heavy overall creasing, small loss to upper edge.Beatles manager Brian Epstein had refused all charitable organizations access to the Beatles due to their already overloaded schedule. However whilst Epstein was occupied in America, Jeffrey Archer (who was running Oxfam's anti-hunger campaign) managed to get himself backstage at the Beatles concert in Liverpool on December 7th, 1963 at which time he convinced the Beatles to pose for a quick photo with a banner and collection pots. This is the image featured on the present signed Oxfam flyer. (13730)
