Original photograph postcard of the notorious demimondaine, the celebrated beautiful dancer who left the world of ballet for the Folies Bergère, was mistress to King Léopold II and was painted and celebrated by Lautrec, Muller and Klimt. De Mérode is shown in a Grecian-style dress, in profile to the left, photographed by Reutlinger of Paris. Her signature is reproduced in facsimile across the foot of the image. A crisp image in very fine condition. 3.5 x 5.5 inches (8.9 x 14 cm). (13415)
