Minute Waltz - Autograph Musical Quotation
AMQS of the Minute Waltz from the legendary Russian-German pianist especially known for his performances of Chopin. Pachmann has penned the very recognizable first three measures of the piece, with the first measures of the B section much smaller beneath this. Dedicated to a Mr. De Selvier, boldly signed and dated Dublin, January 7, 1884. On letterhead of Seapoint Manor, Blackrock, Co. Dublin, folded to 18 x 11.5 cm. One folding crease and light toning; otherwise in very fine condition.About Pachmann, K.S. Sorabji has written that: "the almost unlimited range of his gradations of tone within a mezzo forte and an unbelievable quasi niente, the amazing fluidity and limpid liquidity of his fingerwork, his delicious dainty staccato, the marvellous cantilena, the exquisite phrasing and the wonderful delicate fantasy of the whole, all made his playing [of the smaller works of Chopin] an enchantment and a delight."
