Autograph Musical Quotation

Autograph musical quotation from the Russian-born concert pianist, one of Liszt's foremost pupils and author of the memoir Life and Liszt. Three measures in G minor, marked "Marziale." Signed and dated Burlington, VT, April 4, 1894. Friedheim taught and performed in the United States from 1891 to 1895. On an album leaf, 15.6 x 11 cm, in fine condition.

On the verso, a signature from Oliver Otis Howard, retired Major-General of the U.S. Army who won the Medal of Honor for his leadership in the Civil War, and became known as the "Christian general" for his ethical decisions. (12908)
