TLS Returning Concert Tickets

Short typed letter on Curtis Institute letterhead signed by the great Polish American piano virtuoso, composer and teacher.  "My dear Mr. Van Den Burg: Thanks very much for the enclosed tickets which I shall be unable to use on account of a previous engagement."  Dated March 24, 1931.  Mailing folds and small staple holes; otherwise in fine condition.  21.6 x 27.9 cm.

Hofmann was the first head of the piano department at the inception of the Curtis Institute of Music, Philadelphia, in 1924; he became the Institute's director in 1927 and remained so until 1938. (12886)
