Signed Photograph

Original cabinet photograph signed by the Austrian composer of operettas, including The Dollar Princess and Madame Pompadour.  Fall is shown in profile, looking down through his pince-nez, and has signed elegantly in the corner: Leo Fall, Vienna, May 12, 1908.  The photograph is embossed with the year, 1908, and presented on the original mount from Hofatelier Gebrüder Hirsch, Mannheim.  On the verso, a newspaper clipping of Fall's obituary (in German) has been mounted, and Fall's birth and death dates written in pen. Some scratches and wear to the surface of the image, otherwise in fine condition.  10.6 x 16.4 cm.  Scarce. (12788)
