"Improvisation Op. 51" - Autograph Manuscript Quotation

AMQS by the American composer and pianist, son of the important hymn composer Lowell Mason. Two measures of music written in the composer's impeccable hand, signed and dated New York, April 24 1900. The quotation has been made on a leaf from a diary dated January 24 (Mason's birthday) and printed with Mason's name and a quotation from Milton. The leaf is unfortunately torn in two, with some losses to the music; there are chips and tears around the edges; otherwise the signature itself is in good condition. 11 x 16 cm. (12707)
