Bernstein, Leonard. (1918–1990)

Collection of 16 Vintage Press Photographs

An interesting collection of press photographs from various moments in the great American conductor and composer's career.  Among other scenes, Bernstein is pictured with Luciano Pavarotti and Leontyne Price at the 1987 AIDS benefit "Music for Life"; coaching a very young Midori; with conductor Karl Böhm; with Seiji Ozawa at his 70th birthday gala in 1988; and with local musicians while on tour in Tokyo and Bolivia.

Eight images are telecopier or laserfax in sepia; eight further images are high-quality black-and-white photo prints on five sheets.  Each sheet approx. 8 x 11 inches, with some variation.  Images are captioned and dated 1950's to 1980's. Some wear and tear reflecting their use as part of a working newspaper archive, but overall in fine condition. (12660)
