1793 Teatre du Palais Musician's Contract
Paris: 21 Mars, 1793. Two engraved pages and one leaf. 9.5 x 14.5 inches. With holograph notes and signatures throughout the contract from Louis-François Archet and the musician, L'Huillier (also spelled Loulié), concerning his engagement to appear at the above theatre commencing 8 April, 1793. Of particular interest is Article 4, regarding the possibility of cancelling the contract in the case of a fire in the theatre.No first name is given for the performer. He may have been a descendant of the musician and theorist Étienne Loulié (1654 - 1702). (12640)
