Autograph Musical Quotation of Four Schoenberg String Quartets

Very rare AMQS, signed "Rudolf Kolisch". July 9, 1969. 3.5" h x 6.5" w. A long 17-bar quotation written in the treble clef in blue ink, including quotations of varying length and from various movements of, in order, the four String Quartets of Arnold Schoenberg. On the verso in another hand, someone has marked "7/9/69" in pencil. Large piece missing from upper left hand corner only slightly affecting clef, else fine.

Rudolf Kolisch was a noted Viennese violinist and leader of string quartets, including the Kolisch Quartet and the Pro Arte Quartet. He was a major advocate of contemporary music between the two world wars. (12433)
