"I'm A Bachelor...I'm A Daddy" - 1882 Brooklyn Tradecard Set

[New York]: Sammis & Latham. 1882. Highly amusing set of tradecards, printed in black and white and gold, illustrating a dapper Bachelor (apparently the first card only of a related series), followed by an uncertaintly smiling man captioned "I'm a daddy," then increasingly desperate as the captions read "The Nurse Says There Are Two!", "Three!", "Four!" and "Five!'. One of the set stamped on the verso by the Brooklyn grocer, Oscar W. Young. First card creased, a few small stains, overall fine.

The Brooklyn Daily Eagle of May 8, 1905 records a short obituary for Oscar W. Young, which notes that he died at the age of 70 and had served durin the Civil War in the 47th Regiment. (12135)
