Signed printed invitation and signed photograph from the innovative Austrian-American theater and film director and actor. July, 1923, Salzburg, Schloss Leopoldskron. In English, announcing that Reinhardt "intends to give...a performance for his friends of Moliere's 'Le Malade Imaginaire' on Monday evening, August 20, with Max Pallenberg," and extending an invitation to attend, requesting that "inasmuch as the number of guests at this private performance is limited to sixty, he would appreciate a telegraphic response." Signed "Max Reinhardt" in purple ink, with a line in a different hand noting "at the request of [the journalist and impressario] Rudolf Kommer." Together with an original 3 x 5 inch Ellinger of Salzburg portrait photograph, signed in ink on the verso by Reinhardt. (11513)
