Autograph Musical Quotation, "Violin Concerto No. 2"

A boldly penned AMQS from the German composer, neatly inked on an an oblong album page. Four measures, marked "Adagio" and identified as from his "Concerto Nr. 2 Pour le Violon, Dédiée à Sarasate." Inscribed "A Mademoiselle Georgine Bund," signed in full and dated ""Breslau, 12. Oktober 1883." 18 x 25.5 cm. Tipped at both sides to another sheet, a few light creases, overall fine. From the collection of controversial ethno-musicologist Fritz Bose (1906-1975).

The Violin Concerto No. 2 in D minor, Op. 44 was composed around 1878 and is dedicated to the great Spanish violinist, Pablo de Sarasate. It was premiered in London by Sarasate, conducted by Bruch, in November 1878. (11457)
