A remarkable letter from the British composer best known for his collaborations on more than a dozen classic comic operas with librettist W. S. Gilbert. Letter signed to the great Hungarian violinist Joseph Joachim, dedicatee of the Brahms Concerto and many other works. 1 page (7 x 4.5 in.; 178 x 114 mm.), London, 6 December 1882, to Mr. [Joseph] Joachim, on I, QUEEN’S MANSIONS, VICTORIA STREET. S.W. stationery. Accompanied by a postcard photograph of Sullivan by E. Bieber of Berlin and Hamburg.


The English composer writes in full: "Dear Mr. Joachim, I have much pleasure in accepting your kind invitation to dinner on Tuesday the 19th instant at 7.15. Believe me Sincerely Yours Arthur Sullivan." (11452)
