"The Flood: A Musical Play" - Signed and Inscribed to George Perle

Inscribed on title page in red ink "To George Perle / My best wishes / I. Stravinsky / Aug., 1965." Pencil marking "d-flat? on record" on second page of score. In fine condition. An interesting association copy, inscribed to the noted American composer and theorist George Perle (1915 - 2009) who founded the Alban Berg Society with Stravinsky and others in 1968.
The Flood is a short biblical drama on the allegory of Noah, originally written as a work for television. It contains singing, spoken dialogue, and ballet sequences. Premiered in the United States on the CBS Television Network on 14 June 1962, the production was conducted by Robert Craft and choreographed by George Balanchine. (10884)
