Signed National Association of Performing Artists Membership Form

Elusive signed document from the renowned Russian-born American virtuoso pianist, celebrated for his legendary speed and finger dexterity. On 2 April 1951, Barere suffered a cerebral hemorrhage during a performance of Grieg's Piano Concerto at Carnegie Hall, with Eugene Ormandy conducting the Philadelphia Orchestra. Barere subsequently collapsed and died backstage shortly thereafter.

Original 1937 National Association of Performing Artists membership form, completed by the pianist and boldly signed. 21 x 9.5 cm. and in very fine condition. Autograph material of Barere is uncommon. (10509)
