The address book of the American composer, one of the most celebrated of the 20th century. Over 80 pages, 8vo, written in a Rubrica telefonica by Gucci, the typed section 39 pages, the autograph additions 44 pages (loose), ring-bound, 1960s and 1970s, lacking covers. The typed section listing mainly people and services in New York, with extensive additional autograph sections in black ink for Munich, Rome, Spoleto, Venice and elsewhere, some entries deleted, the names including Arroyo, Bernstein, Browning, Copland, William Crawford, Martha Graham, Pamela Harriman, Hans Heinsheimer, Horowitz, Manfred Ibel, Christa Ludwig, Menotti, Menuhin, Ormandy, Leontyne Price, Serkin, Styron, Tippett, Visconti, Vidal and many others, together with restaurants, musicians, memoranda about Shostakovich and Rostropovich, and his bank account details.
