1959 photograph of the great guitarist, being met at the Midland, TX airport by local conductor Walter Mantani. The two are shown posing at the foot of the stairs to an airliner, with Segovia holding his guitar case. Dated April 1959 on the verso. Very good. 8 x 10 inches (20 x 25 cm).
Intact copy of the 1935 annual publication from the "Columbia Concerts Corporation," then owned by the Columbia Broadcasting Company (CBS), and designed to be a sort of catalogue for concert halls and entertainment promoters. The pages of the handsome 10 x 13 inch publication are printed on heavy enameled stock, with color artwork surrounding large artist photographs in black & white, including Tibbett, Heifetz, Pons, Milstein, Piatigorsky, Menuhin, Grace Moore, Richard Crooks, Lotte Lehman, Jose Iturbi, Rose Bampton, Andres Segovia, James Melton, the Jooss European Ballet, and many others. The book is spiral-bound in hard-cover, cloth spine, and is in near-perfect condition save for a few checks and frays on the cover edges. These are surpsingly hard to find, especially in such pristine condition.
