Oblong 4to (300 x 235mm). Engraved throughout, no PN, and lacking or rubbed out price and publisher imprint (small hole at foot of title in that area). Title [vb]; 2 - 83 pp. contemporary half calf, marbled boards with leather plate to upper "Handel's Lessons Vol: 2d.", upper cover and a couple of pages detached, a little worming, generally clean throughout. An early edition of the second set of Handel's Suites, reprinted from the Walsh plates with an altered title-page, including HWV434-442. Rare Silver Medallion

Fine and rare portrait medallion, issued in 1859 by C. Voigt. Only 100 examples struck. Features a fine engraved bust portrait of the composer facing left, and the text: "GEORG FRIEDRICH HAENDEL. Geb. D. 24 FEBR. 1685." [Incorrect date, instead of Feb. 23]. At base of neck, signed "VOIGT," and beneath, "G.L.DIR." The verso features a lyre, adorned by laurels and a star, with the text: "ZUR HEIMAT DER TOENE. D. 13. APRIL 1759." [Incorrect date, instead of April 14]. Beneath the lyre, signed "PFFR;F:" [Pfeuffer]. 29 mm. Niggl 808. Andorfer & Epstein 117.

A New Edition of Six Concertos for the Harpsichord or Organ

London: Printed for Wright & Wilkinson Successors to the late Mr. Walsh. [ca. 1784]. Title page; v.b.; [i] 2-18, 20-48 pp. Engraved throughout.  The whole disbound, loose pages contained in a contemporary paper and cloth wrapper, ticket affixed to front cover reading "No. 177 Library Book./ Handel's Six Concerto's./ I. Hedgley,/ No. 12., Ebury Street, Pimlico,/ Music Seller, and Tuner,/ by Appointment to/ H.R.M. the Princess Augusta./ Music lent out on hire."  Later ownership signature "B. Gipps" written to upper right corner, armorial bookplate of the musician Ernest Bryan Gipps, brother of the composer Ruth and leader of the Folkestone Municipal Orchestra in the 1930s, affixed to inside cover, occasional notations written throughout in an early hand, heavy toning to outer wrapper else in fine condition.  10 x 12.5 inches (25.4 x 37.8 cm.). Fine and rare portrait medallion, issued in 1823 by Wolff. Deeply engraved bust portrait of the composer facing left, with the name "G. Fridericus Haendel" and with the name "Wolff. "A Grand Selection, The First Part Solely from 'The Messiah'" - Original 1818 Broadside

Original broadside for a Friday, February 13, 1818 concert at Theatre Royal, Covent Garden, featuring the first part of Handel's The Messiah, "To particular Airs and Choruses of which will be introduced the Additional Accompaniments by W. A. Mozart."  To verso, an unknown period hand has rather amusingly recorded that attendance was "very so so until second Price and then pretty full all over. Concluded by Eleven or a few minutes after. Money Taker at... Check Mr. Keating." Additional performances are also noted, including a Flute Concerto by Drouet and a Cello Concerto by Lindley.  Some of the celebrated singers listed include Catherine Stephens, Fanny Corri-Paltoni and John Braham. Creases and rough edges, but overall in fine condition.  Approximately 8.25 x 12.25 inches (21.3 x 42.5 cm).
