Engraved bust portrait, ca.1918, 5.51 by 7.87 inches. A trial proof before the unnumbered edition, Struck’s engraved signature as a Star of David, hand signed in pencil at left below the plate and identified right "Probdruck V 5/11" at right by the artist; signed and dated 1923 by Einstein in pencil lower right above limitation. Top edge of sheet lightly mounted to mat backing. German edition of "Mein Weltbild" or "The World As I See It," signed and inscribed by Einstein on the front free endpaper, in German (translated): "Two years after the Fall of the German Goyim. Kindly granted  / Albert Einstein 1935." The recipient's name has been clipped out. Several diagrams and tables throughout. Black cloth-covered boards with gilt titling on the front cover. Folio (14 x 19 inch; 35 x 49 cm), spiral bound, plain boards; covers detached, generally sound internally. Together with an elaborate painted calligraphic presentation broadside (14 x 21 inch; 36 x 54 cm) of the Symphony to Albert Einstein by Sol Nodel (1951), "Symphony No. 2 'David' dedicated to Albert Einstein For his inspiration to the Jewish people and to all humanity by the composer Menahem Avidom and presented by the American Fund for Israel Institutions on the occasion of the American tour of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, January, February, March 1951," additionally inscribed by the composer in black ink upper left, "To the greatest man in our generation / Prof. A. Einstein / humbly / From the Composer / M. Avidom / Princeton 10/1/51." Together with an original 8 x 8 inch original photograph of the presentation to Einstein and a photocopy of a 1986 letter from Louise F. Sayen later presenting the score and broadside to a Mr. Benamy, noting that "Miss Margot Einstein made this gift to you in gratitude for your thoughtful help in arranging for the distribution of her father's library.  It gave her great comfort that you were the designated representative for the Friends of Hebrew University in Jerusalem." Facsimile Autograph Letter Signed, about Relief for German Jews

Facsimile of an autograph letter signed from the important German writer, addressed to the readers of the journal Aufbau and asking for donations to the relief effort organized by the publication to help German and Austrian Jews after World War II. Pacific Palisades, California, September 11, 1946. Mann reports that the relief effort has thus far been able to bring money and a "considerable amount of vital supplies" to Europe, but calls strongly for further support: "... the effort must be continued with redoubled energy, and everyone who has the luck to make his livelihood in this favored country must give as much as he can, to fulfill his humanitarian duty to our suffering brethren in Europe." An interesting group of twelve large original photographs of actors, actresses, and others, ca. 1920's, from the Pasadena-based photographer Ervin Willard Spurr, and including a signed self-portrait of Spurr. Among the subjects portrayed are radio executive Glen Rice and one of the country singers he promoted, identified as Hubert; a man dressed in Arctic furs, identified on the verso as John Herman Flyn (two photographs), and an actor identified as R. J. Maclean, shown in two photographs dated 1926 as Richard III and Brutus. Varying sizes, ranging from 11 x 14 inches (Spurr's self-portrait) to 16 x 19 inches. Included are portraits of Chief Clear Sky (a mirror-image print of another extant photograph, identified on the verso in pencil), Chief Luxosier (Billie Harris, identified on the verso in pencil), Anapole Del Vando ("Morning Sky" in the Mission Players; identified at the foot and dated August 1925 on the verso), and Privida Mojardo ("Red Wing" in the Mission Players of San Gabriel; identified in ink on the verso). All signed or stamped in the print by the photographer, Ervin Willard Spurr, and the last stamped with credit stamp on the verso. Most stamped or signed in the image by the photographer, E. Willard Spurr; each actor identified on the verso, two with credit stamps from the photographer also to the verso. Three large exhibition photographs of Native Americans, one signed by the Cheyenne actor Chief Thunder Bird to the photographer, E. Willard Spurr. The photographs depict Thunderbird (dated 1927), Chief Clear Sky, and another Native American actor in a feathered headdress. The photograph of Chief Thunder Bird is signed and inscribed at the lower right: "To E. Willard Spurr, artist. Your friend Thunder Bird, Cheyenne." The photograph of an unidentified man is signed at the foot: "E. Willard Spurr, 'artist.' Pasadena, Calif. 1925." Each photograph stamped by Spurr in the image, with two of them blind-stamped in the lower margin. Two with a small corner loss, partially affecting the inscription; one with a stain at the left.
