Signed Schubert Impromptus LP

Lengthy inscription and bold signature from the elegant Viennese pianist on the verso of the LP cover to his 1960 Schubert Impromtus recording. Dated May, 1964, he inscribes "To George --, one of the rare 'Schubert birds, in common admiration for this genius. Paul Badura Skoda." Fine.

Original Photograph Trading Places!

Original photograph of the two great artists trading places, with Michael seated at the keyboard and Badura-Skoda holding the violin and smiling mischievously.  Stamped by the photographer on the verso, "Adrian Boddington Photography...Melbourne."  This photograph dates from Rabin's 1952 tour, when he met up to play some sonatas with Badura-Skoda, who was also touring in Australia at the time.  This image is reproduced in Anthony Feinstein's "Michael Rabin: America's Virtuoso Violinist."  Creasing to the lower left corner, else fine.  6.2 x 8.2 inches  (16 x 21 cm.). Signed program from a January 7, 1959 piano-four-hands recital by the two Austrian pianists at Carnegie Hall. Both have signed boldly over the first page of the program listing, which included works by Mozart, Hindemith and Schubert. Demus' signature slightly smudged, but otherwise in very fine condition, together with a promotional flyer and two newspaper clippings about the concert. Program 23 pp., 7.25 x 9.75 inches (18.5 x 25 cm).
