"Cantorial Chants" - Signed Recording

Rare signed RCA Vitctor 10" 78 RPM record 4-disc record set of the great cantor and vocalist. RCA Victor International Set S-52, boldly signed in blue ink on the fron cover. All recordings present and appear to be in good condition.

A relative of noted conductor Sergei Koussevitzky, he made many recordings in Poland and the United States.

The Airs chantés were first performed in June of 1928 in Paris at the Salle Pleyel in a joint concert featuring Auric and Poulenc.

Paris: Choudens. 1902. 204pp. [PN] A. C. 9712. Folio. Original quarter leather and marble binding, worn and chipped, the internal score is superb. Inscribed by Leoncavallo on the title page.


Pagliacci was first performed in Milan at La Scala in 1892. The famous "Vesti la Giubba," was recorded by Caruso in 1904 and was the first classical record to sell a million copies. Signed copies of theis work, one of the great masterworks of Italian verismo opera, are very rare and desirable.

A handsome sammelband of 25 early nineteenth-century Italian opera arias, including one aria signed by Rossini, collected and assembled by the Marquis of Bourdeille ca. 1820. Included are arias by Mozart, Guglielmi, Martini, Pucitta, Paër, Gail, Fioravanti, Cimarosa, Pacini, and Mercadante, as well as 6 scores to arias from Rossini's early operas Demetrio e Polybio, Il Turco in Italia, Otello, and Armide, the last of which is autographed on the first page by the composer.
