Translation of text: "On this auspicious day, allow the ardent and sincere vows of those Italians who are proud and worthy continuers of the immortal lyrical tradition of our lineage, add my modest but no less devout wish for a long happy life bringing forth new works - with unfailing friendship Barberi."
Several of Mascagni's operas, including Cavalleria rusticana, had their world premiere at the theater in Rome. The identity of "Barberi" is unknown.
