A fine original painting, unsigned, no place, no date, oil on panel, of an anonymous woman seated at a keyboard and looking longingly outwards at the viewer. The canvas verso inscribed "Madame Auguste Bois...-Rufini," though we have not been able to trace any figure of this name. The work is heavily over-varnished and in need of a good cleaning but otherwise in good condition. Set in a period gilt frame. Approx. framed to 22 x 20 inches.
