Original oil painting by New York-based illustrator Harry Barton used as the cover to the 1959 pulp novel Golden Tramp by Daoma Winston (1922–2013), framed together with a copy of the book, Beacon #B272. Painting unexamined out of frame, but appears to be in very fine condition, 14 x 22 inches (35.6 x 55.9 cm.), framed to 24.25 x 41 inches (61.6 x 104.1 cm.).
Harry Barton was a prolific painter and illustrator who worked for theatres, advertisers, book and magazine publishers, and more. His work was featured in The Saturday Evening Post, on billboards for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, and in magazine advertisements for Lord & Taylor.
