Signed bust portrait of the American dancer, singer and actor. Inscribed to "Jimmy & Paul". 10 x 8 inches (25.3 x 20.3 cm). Creased to upper margin; els in very good condition.
Harold Lang (not to be confused with the British actor of the same name) began his career as ballet dancer but moved to musical theater in the later 1940s. Thus he performed in the original productions of both Jerome Robbins's ballet Fancy Free and Cole Porter's musical Kiss me, Kate. In his final years, Lang was professor of dance at California State University in Chico. "Jimmy"was Paul McMahon's partner at the time of the inscription.
