Sheet music for the hit song "They Didn't Believe Me" from the 1914 musical The Girl from Utah, signed above title by composer Jerome Kern, who has inscribed "To Louis A Hirsch from / his sincerely / Jerome D. Kern."  A handwritten note in an unknown hand identifies the source of the signature as "Hippodrome / Actors Fund Benefit / Mar. 26/16."  The inscription is to composer Louis Hirsch, one of the founders of ASCAP and composer of a number of early Broadway hits for Al Jolson and the Shuberts.  Wear to spine and edges where evidently disbound from a larger volume, pages reinforced along inner joint, else in fine condition.  6pp. 10.5 x 13 inches (26.7 x 33 cm.).
