Bound in publisher's flecked oatmeal cloth, gilt spine lettering blocked in red and black, black topstain. Signed by the important American playwright and theatre director on the title page in green ink, “Moss Heart.” Includes original price-clipped dust jacket. Ownership signature to the ffe, otherwise clean and bright throughout, very fine, in a near fine jacket. Uncommon signed.

Though he collaborated with Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, and Rodgers and Hart, Moss Hart's biggest hit by far was the musical "My Fair Lady" (1956), adapted from George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion, with book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe. The show ran over seven years and won a Tony Award for Best Musical, with Hart picking up the Tony for Best Director.
