Signed and humorously inscribed by the legendary musician on the front free end paper in blue ink, "Jerry / We called it / music - you called  it football - / Eddie Condon / 10/26/47 -." Publisher's tan cloth, spine lettered in purple, dust jacket. Jacket heavily worn, with chipping and full separation along spine. Binding and interior with moderate toning, else fine. We have not been able to positively identify the football player to whom this volume is inscribed. 

The great jazz guitarist, banjo player and bandleader Eddie Condon played with some of the greats in jazz: Jack Teagarden, Bix Beiderbecke, and Frank Teschemacher to name but a few. He did radio broadcasts, recorded albums, and owned his own club (New York's Eddie Condon's, open from 1945 to 1967).
