Nijinsky, Vaslav. (1889-1950). Autograph Signature and Photograph in "Le Festin" (1909).

Bold autograph signature in ink, "Waslaw Nijinsky" elaborately matted with gilt fillet and framed with an original postcard photograph by Bert of Paris of the dancer in the Grand Pas Classique Hongrois (from Raymonda with music by Glazunov, choreography by Petipa) in Le Festin, 1909,  shown wearing a long tunic and tall boots, his arms extended to his right. Unexamined out of frame, both in apparently very fine condition. Postcard 3.5 x 5.5 inches (8.4 x 13.4 cm); signature sheet 4.75 x 3.5 inches (12.5 x 8.5 cm); framed overall to 17 x 11 inches (43 x 28 cm).

Le Festin, first performed in Paris in 1909, was the first of Diaghilev's ballet divertissements: a revue of various unrelated but picturesque dance numbers, most set to music by Russian composers.
