AUTOBIOGRAPHY. The envelope is glued to the rear inside cover. The letter talks about writing an artical on the earthquake & the Imperial Hotel (1923), drawings for the Burnham Library & other newsy things. There are two book plates designed by Sullivan, one glued into book & the other clipped partially. 

The person he is writing to and who the Ex-Libris was for is Claude A. Stiehl (1902-1960), an architect who designed a convent & church in Hawaii in 1935 & 1939. He designed with combined features of Asian, European & Hawaiian cultures. He also designed residences in Honolulu and wrote an article on Hawaiian projects in "California Arts & Architecture" magazine in the July 1935 issue.
