Enormous original NY-printed ca. 1960 poster created for the one-woman performances of Marlene Dietrich with music arranged by Burt Bacharach.  The drawing, which also appeared on the cover of the 1961 book "Marlene Dietrich ABC," is by René Bouché, artist and fashion illustrator, known for his work in Vogue magazine between the 1930s and 1960s. This example originally from the personal collection of Marlene Dietrich, then to Paul McMahon, a critic, photographer and artist who worked for more than 13 years touring with her as the icon’s stage manager, announcer, dresser, secretary and escort. Sold together with a letter of provenance from the husband of Paul McMahon, Ralph Hodgdon. A few small abrasions and nicks as well as now flattened but visible creases; well-restored and linen/canvas-backed. Please note this the original first printing of this often-reproduced poster, later issued in smaller formats, on different stock, and with variations and Paris and other printing locations.  41 x 53.5 inches.
