The brand quickly gained a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship, attracting notable figures and even royalty.  In the mid-20th century, the brand made a significant shift into the production of lighters, marking a major turning point in its history. This transformation was highlighted by the creation of the iconic S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 lighter in the 1970s. Known for its distinctive “cling” sound when opened, the Ligne 2 lighter became a symbol of luxury and sophistication. Made from precious metals and often adorned with intricate designs, these lighters are far more than simple fire starters. They represent a nod to the elegance of a bygone era and a testament to Dupont’s craftsmanship.
