Red and pale green ceramic pitcher with ceramic cork stopper designed for the French wine merchant Cusenier and exhibited in 1925.   Height 10 3/4 in, largest diameter 5 1/2 in., artist monogram and retail name to base. A few small chips to the glaze, overall in very good condition.

The French architect and designer was one of the pioneers of the modern movement. In 1929, he founded the UAM (Union of Modern Artists) alongside Robert Mallet-Stevens, Francis Jourdain and Hélène Henry.
