Concert program from a December 20, 1959 performance conducted by Igor Stravinsky at Town Hall in New York, signed by the "special guest" performers Aaron Copland, Samuel Barber and Lukas Foss. The eclectic program included Stravinsky's Les Noces and Epitaphium, as well as works by Bach, Monteverdi, and Webern. In fine condition, together with two promotional brochures, a newspaper clipping about the concert, and a special notice announcing a further Stravinsky performance. "Sequenza IV" - Autograph Musical Quotation with Typed Letter Signed

Autograph musical quotation from the important composer, who has written one measure of "a little sketch of 'Sequenza IV' for piano." Together with an accompanying typed letter signed dated Weehawken, N.J., March 3, 1970, and original airmail envelope. Translated from the German: "Dear Mr. Ruf, I have received your letter of February 2. Your request is, as you say, a very curious one. Naturally I am not accustomed to send someone something that I meant to throw away; but for you I have found a little sketch of 'Sequenza IV' for piano. I hope that this little thing will be useful to you. Yours, Luciano Berio." Signed postcard photograph from the French composer and pianist, who has penned an autograph musical quotation from her Pastorale op. 114 on the verso. The quotation of four measures is penned diagonally on the verso, with an inscription dated October 1913. She is shown on the recto in a portrait by Cliché, Boissonnas & Taponier, and has signed and dated again 1913. Fanfare for the Common Man - Signed Facsimile Sketch with MacDowell Colony Book

Autograph signature from the important American composer, penned on a limited edition print of the original working edition of his iconic "Fanfare for the Common Man," the facsimile issued and signed in 1982 to benefit the MacDowell Colony in New Hampshire. The facsimile is printed on four loose sheets (9.5 x 12.5 inches), with the first of these sheets signed, and enclosed in an envelope together with a slightly wrinkled title page. Together with"The MacDowell Colony: A History of its Architecture and Development," an 84-page book concerning the founding and history of the Colony. Original 1937 press photograph showing the American lyricist leaving temple with his wife Leonore and another man, after the funeral rites for his composer brother.  Gershwin had died suddenly on July 11, 1937, at age 38, from a brain tumor diagnosed too late to save him. His death shocked his many friends and admirers. Original press caption printed below image and unevenly trimmed; slight creasing and one small tear to the edges; otherwise in very good condition. 20.2 x 28.5 cm.
