Original watercolor and collage by the French painter and designer, incorporating visual motifs inspired by the body of a string instrument and the name "Bach" as collage element in the upper left. The artist's signature stamp in the lower right. Fine.  10.83 x 14.37 inches (27.5 x 36.5 cm).

A successful painter and designer, Albert Huyot was one of the many prominent students taught by Gustave Moreau (1826–1898).

Group of Signed Letters about the 1905 and 1907 Kammermusikfesten at the Beethovenhaus Bonn

Three letters from the great violinist, the texts in a secretarial hand, each hand-signed by Joachim himself, together with one incomplete letter in a secretarial hand. Dated from 1905 to 1906 and written to German conductor, violinist, and composer Hugo Grüters, the letters concern details of the organization of the 1905 and 1907 chamber music festivals held at the Beethoven-Haus in Bonn. "Variations I" - Graphic Autograph Musical Quotation

Autograph musical quotation signed from the influential American composer's Variations I, taking the form of five overlapping straight lines and one dot. Cage has identified the piece and signed at the foot. Penned in blue ballpoint on an index card, 5 x 3 inches (12.7 x 7.6 cm). Identified in pencil on the verso in another hand. Fine.

The composer described his Variations as "a highly indeterminate piece" where "the straight lines are the various parameters of sound and the points are sounds."

Signed card from the French composer, critic, scholar and teacher, inscribed "à monsieur Roger Derby/ avec les compliments de Paul Dukas/ Nov. 1932," along with a half-tone photograph clipped from an unidentified publication and the original mailing envelope.  Fine.  Card measures 3.25 x 2.25 inch (8.2 x 5.7 cm.).

Paul Dukas remains best known for his "L'apprenti sorcier "(The Sorcerer's Apprentice) and his opera "Ariane et Barbe-bleue".
