Autograph musical quotation from the Swiss-born American pianist, conductor, composer, and music educator. Berlin, May 21st, 1906. He has penned two measures of the melody from his song "What is love?", adding "Never ask twice!" and signed "in remembrance of another stranger / Rudolph Ganz." Autograph signature from the American violinist, composer and friend of Debussy, who has inscribed next to a most unusual small mounted photograph of himself playing the violin with his back turned to the camera: "Miss Ramsay, in ["Tragicomme"?] remembrance of a fellow-sufferer in Berlin / Arthur Hartmann / May 16, '06." Photograph neatly mounted within four small diagonal splits, intact; light edge toning; overall fine. Photograph 1.75 x 2.75 inches (4.8 x 7.2 cm), album leaf 7.25 x 4.5 inches (18.3 x 11.3 cm).

Stunning and boldly signed photograph of the supreme violinist as a young boy, shown wearing a sailor suit and holding his violin and bow, signed and inscribed to fellow Leopold Auer student, Jaroslav Siskovsky.  Heifetz has signed (translated from the German): "A kind souvenir for Mr. Siskovsky of Jascha Heifetz. Bach's Cantata no. 29 - Autograph Musical Quotation Inscribed to Theodore Steinway

A remarkable autograph musical quotation from the great German pianist, who has penned the first two measures of the bass line of J. S. Bach's Cantata no. 29 with an inscription to Theodore E. Steinway on the occasion of his 70th birthday. He writes (translated from the German): "Distinguished anniversaries must be celebrated with distinguished music. So to Mr. Theodore E. Steinway I give the beginning of Cantata no. 29 by Joh. Seb. Bach, 'Wir danken dir Gott, wir danken dir.' Wilhelm Kempff / Schloß Thurnau, Oberfranken, October 16, 1953." In fine condition. 9 x 8.5 inches (23 x 21.5 cm).

Signed postcard photograph of the renowned American violinist who premiered the violin concertos of Alban Berg and Arnold Schoenberg and who was a close associate of Webern. He is shown in a portrait by Fayer of Vienna, and has signed and inscribed at the lower right: "To S. H. Porter / Louis Krasner / London BBC / May 1, 1936." Slightly poor contrast to the inscription, one slight crease; overall fine. 3.5 x 5.5 inches (8.5 x 13.2 cm). Scarce.

Original Dinner Menu from his Fiftieth Birthday

Amusing original menu from a dinner given in honor of the legendary violinist's fiftieth birthday on February 21, 1925. Hosted by the New York musicians' club The Bohemians, the dinner took place at the Harvard Club and paired a series of courses with "Beer / Two Beer / One More Beer / And Beer / Now comes Beer..." The verso shows the evening's entertainment: Kreisler's Quartet in A minor, performed by the New York String Quartet. One picture shows Kreisler reading on a bench, while in the other he is watching ducks beside a pond. Press stamps on the verso. Signed photograph of the Bohemian violin virtuoso of the early twentieth century, together with an autograph musical quotation penned on a promotional brochure. Lusk is shown perusing a score in a postcard photograph and has signed and inscribed in white, dating February 15, 1926. On the 4-page brochure, which touts him as "the violinist whose rise in the musical world is truly remarkable," he has signed and dated February 10, 1926, adding a short AMQS identified as the "Lady Hamilton Waltz / Jonesco-Lusk." Silvering to the photograph; folding creases and toning to the brochure; overall in fine condition. 3.5 x 5.5 inches (8.8 x 13.8 cm) and 6 x 9.5 inches (15.5 x 24 cm).

Signed halftone photograph of the distinguished Polish pianist, on a single sheet extracted from a 1954 concert program. He performed with the London Philharmonic under Sir Adrian Boult on December 6, 1954. Together with another page from the same program, with biographies of Malcuzynski and Boult. Right edge rough with some wrinkling and slight corner wear, but otherwise in fine condition. 7.5 x 9.75 inches (18.8 x 24.8 cm).

An amusing autograph musical quotation from the Spanish violinist and composer, who has penned three measures of rests in 12/8, marked with a dramatic crescendo and decrescendo from pppppp to ffff and back to p, noting that it should be played "Mit enthousiasmus." He adds at the head (translated from the German): "Souvenir of Berlin in the year 1906." On a small album leaf with some toning; overall fine. 7.25 x 4.5 inches (18.3 x 11.3 cm).

Autograph Musical Quotation with Caricature and Signed Envelope

Autograph musical quotation from the French violinist, a student of Massenet and friend of Reynaldo Hahn. He has penned eight measures for trumpet, drum, and orchestra, signed at the lower right and dated January 1894. The quotation is mounted at the foot of a larger sheet bearing an amusing caricature of Moret by Alfred Porcabeuf, 1888. Moret is shown standing in a packet of tobacco with his long curly hair flowing around him, while musical notes billow up from a large cigarette. Together with an autograph signature from Moret, inscribed to a Madame Bonnet on a small envelope.
